About Me
My name is Elizabeth, and my vision is that every person has the opportunity to bloom into a better, brighter, and more beautiful life every day. My mission in life is to continue blossoming into my realest, best life while helping others blossom into their realest, best life, too!
I have worked with students and coaching clients since 2010. I’ve used my own personal experiences as an adoptee and as a queer person diagnosed with ADHD, OCD, and anxiety to connect with my clients and help them realize their potential.
I currently serve clients who are navigating major life changes, searching for and reuniting with biological family after adoption, coming out as an LGBTQIA++ person, and more. While I draw on my countless experiences as an entrepreneur, parent, elected official, and educator to help me guide my clients, I also engage in ongoing professional development and learning opportunities to help me become a better coach. I’ve completed the NeuroBehavioral/Executive Functions program through Rush Medical Center and I’ve attended multiple antiracism, cultural competency, and anti-bias trainings through organizations like Crossroads Antiracism Organizing and Training. Workshops and trainings are only meaningful if we implement what we’ve learned and change our habits, which is why I value ongoing personal reflection, individual and group book studies, group trainings, and more to guide my work.
If you’re tired of trying to change your life, with very little actual change to show for it, I bet I can help you identify your next steps. As you courageously take those next steps, I will be with you to encourage you, help you brainstorm, point out potholes, and gently caution you from making mistakes. I will also be here when you DO make mistakes, and we’ll work together to figure out solutions that are in alignment with what you want out of life.
I can help you find freedom from what holds you back. You deserve to blossom into your realest, best life!
My Clients
The Late Bloomer
Are you a woman or gender-expansive person who did everything “right” – got married, had kids, bought a house, built a life with your spouse – only to realize that you’re gay, lesbian, trans, or another identity within the LGBTQIA++ community? You aren’t alone! I work with late-blooming clients to help them navigate the personal and practical changes they need to make to blossom into their realest, fullest selves!
The Friendship Builder
As we pass through the many different seasons of life, we realize some of our friendships and relationships don’t feel the same anymore. As you learn who you are, develop expectations for how your friends should show up for you, and establish boundaries for the behaviors you invite into or block out from your life, you might feel like you’ve lost all your friends. It’s a lonely feeling and it’s normal for us to feel like we’ve made a huge mistake, but don’t worry – you’re on the right track! My Friendship Builders are clients who benefit from my support as they cultivate a beautiful new garden of friendships that are built on mutual trust, understanding, and reciprocity!
The Adoptee & The First Parents
Adoption is a topic that is discussed so poorly in American society. We often see adoption as this beautiful, wonderful thing with a happy ending for everyone. In reality, adoption is complicated. Adoptees often have big, complicated feelings around their adoption, no matter how wonderful their adoptive families are. First mothers (also known as birth or biological mothers) experience big, complicated feelings, too – relief, shame, regret, resentment, fear, hope. Search and reunion after adoption can be an extremely difficult and sometimes traumatic journey, but with the guidance and love of a coach who knows this process well, search and reunion after adoption can become a very healing, loving, and meaningful experience.
